On Sunday 24th May, 2009, MINI AUnited 2009 celebrated the 50th birthday of MINI.

The MINI AUnited celebrations ran simultaneously with the global MINI celebrations, lead by the MINI United festival in Silverstone, UK. 

In an event organised by the NSW /ACT MINI dealer network, some 350 New MINIs and Classic Minis participated in MINI AUnited 2009, making it the largest gathering of MINI vehicles, customers, and enthusiasts Australia has ever seen.

MINI Icon took the MINI Motion convoy across the ANZAC Bridge and the Harbour Bridge, and then onto to pass the magnificent Sydney Opera House along the way.
